How to Stop Emotional Overeating
& Lose Weight for Life
There was a time when I wouldn't have wanted to pose for this photo - a time when I felt ashamed of my body and of the excess weight I carried. I spent the first few decades of my life obsessed with food, my body and my size. I overate on my feelings. I binged and starved. I ran for miles. I dieted like crazy. I lost weight, only to put it back on again. All that has changed. I have been a stable and healthy weight for 10+ years. I don't diet. I don't restrict. I don't binge. And I don't weigh myself. Clothes I had in my thirties still fit in my forties. I love wearing bikinis. I am at peace with my body and my shape. I accept myself as I am.

My mind is free from the food and weight obsession that plagued me for years. I have a lot more headspace and room for my creativity (I have written a book and am writing more). I have healthy self-esteem and confidence. I am in a loving relationship and engaged to be married.
I now understand that my problem wasn't with food. It was with feelings. I ate to avoid my feelings or to numb them. Today, I try to feel my feelings and process them in healthy ways rather than stuffing them down with excess food.
